I have been fascinated with photography since high school when my father accepted a camera as payment for an outstanding bill. Since then, I went onto technical college where I learned photography was my calling. After my two-year degree there I studied at Winona (MN) State University. In 1984 I earned a bachelors degree in Photojournalism. For the next 15 years I worked as a photojournalist for newspapers in Minnesota and Michigan. During those years I learned to shoot under pressure in every imaginable situation including the Super Bowl and World Series.
In 1999 I moved to Duluth where I am the full-time photographer at the University of Minnesota Duluth. At UMD, my duties include creating images for university publications and web site as well as photography for 12 athletic teams.
I have been photographing weddings since 1980. I fit my style to the couples taste combining a photojournalist eye with traditional portraiture. All five wedding packages are under $2,000 with each including a CD or prints.
My photos have been published worldwide including the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Women's World and YM magazines. I belong to the Wedding & Portrait Photographer's International, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Sportshooter and University Photographers Association of America.
