Thanks to all the couples and families that allowed me into their lives in 2011 to capture their weddings. My year started in May with Ashley and Brent in Sunfish Lake, MN. Shooting the preparations in their spacious home nestled among the oaks near St. Paul was quite the experience. I have never shot a wedding where raccoons and wild turkeys roamed just outside where the ceremony took place. My next stop was in Cloquet where Edwin married Suzanne in Our Saviors Church. Samantha and David got married at Glensheen Mansion  in late June in a small but beautiful ceremony.
Superior Shores hosted the marriage ceremony of Malarie and Tait on July 9. I and the staff adjusted quickly as rain forced pictures and the ceremony to be moved inside. Malarie is one of the photogenic brides I have photographed with her bubbly personality showing thru on the images. Later in July another up north girl married a southerner with Tony and Jeremy's ceremony at Spirit Mountain. Jeremy's big cowboy hat was perfect to shield him from what was one of the hottest days of the year. In September I was back at Superior Shores for Tiffany and Matt's wedding. Despite having a walking boot on from a recent injury Matt made it out onto the mossy point near the condo's there for some great images. In October Mary and Zach came back to Duluth from Seattle to marry at St. Michaels Catholic Church. The available light during their ceremony provided for some stunning images.
In October Gina and Alan got married at Sacred Heart Music Center. Theirs was a small family affair and fun to witness. My last and probably most anticipated wedding of the year was for Amber and Bob on October 22. The two have been in love for years but school, jobs and kids had held up their nuptials till then. Amber was beaming and the images reflect that. Her dance was also lot of fun with plenty of laughs and dancing courtesy Pro Studio and Light Show. 2012 looks to be another busy as I look forward to making some new friends and making some great new images

I photographed a couple who are getting married in July at Superior Shores. I happened to be in Minneapolis that weekend so we met at the Graves Hotel where they were staying.  This hotel is a photographers dream with bright neon lights and colors. It is also about as different as the shores of Lake Superior providing Malarie and Tait with some great contrasting images.
Both are young energetic and clearly in love, which made my job easy. Their wedding should
produce some beautiful fun images and I look forward to it.

Agree, the colors make this picture subtle and stunning. The place is simple but the lights make this moment extra special.

Here is a collection of my favorite images from weddings in 2010. Many thanks to all the couples that let me into their lives on such a special day. I had a great time with Missy and Rob's group at a Two Harbors bar, on the deck at Lutsen Resort with Katherine and Michael's guests, in Brainerd with Beth and Mike, on the Vista Queen boat with Kathryn and Ed and the perfect blue sky and red dresses photographed at Molly and Jonny's wedding at Superior Shores. At Grand Superior Lodge I photographed Amy, one of the most photogenic brides I've ever photographed, and in Duluth thanks to Paul and Megan and Jessica and Matt for being so easy-going. I still have openings for 2011. Please email me here or fill out my contact form on my website at

Thanks for looking,
Brett

Megan and Paul came to Duluth from Michigan last weekend for their engagement session. They are a quiet and easy to photograph couple. I look forward to their October wedding.

Today I shot the mono-ski day at Spirit Mountain. I have volunteered at this event for many years and always enjoy seeing the faces of the young people who are able to ski for the first time.
